Smartphones are Smart

This week, Tyler tells us about his Smartphone adventures:

The search for the right Smartphone is a very tough one. It is kind of like trying to find a girlfriend. I mean you spend a lot of time with a Smartphone, just like a girl. So either should fit certain criteria to be considered right for you. Smartphones are also a pretty big investment.

Vector Fun

Lockergnomie Lyle J. Kroll:

Hey Chris,
I've been working on my bitmap to vector conversion technique. The .SVG file can be found here. I mainly used Potrace to convert the bitmap to vector, Ghostscript (via Ghostview) to extract the .AI file, and Mayuradraw to convert to .SVG (do this for better control then using Ghostview). I then do some finishing with Inkscape which is complete free to use and hope that you pass it on to your readers. Has a lot of cool features for creating .SVG files. I finally compressed the file in Internet Explorer using Adobe's free .SVG reader. Anyway, I hope you like it. Still working to create better line-art, but I'm getting there. :)

Well now… that's something you don't see every day.

Spider – We Love You, Spider

Watch the video, then read what Ponzi says:

I have never seen as many spiders as I have seen at our house here in Seattle, WA. There are egg sacs everywhere outside.
Chris and I are both Arachnophobes. We battle over whose turn it is to deal with said current intruders. Long handled vaccum cleaners help with this; as do professional spider killers, or at least we are hoping they do Monday morning.
The worst of it all is the majority of the sacs I can see are on a window above the entryway – where we can't reach. Now I'm afraid 300 baby spiders are going to spin down on us everytime we walk out the door. My imagination runs wild when it comes to spiders… I just can't handle them anywhere in close proximity. On the other side of glass… okay. 15 feet away… better. Down the block… preferrably.
I need to go to Lowes and get a heavy duty sprayer to attach to our water hose so I can wash down the outside of the house. I have to admit I'm still chicken to do that. Anybody got some gaiters I can borrow. Better yet – waders?
