A few months ago, I took advantage of a special offer from Dell. It still has not shipped. The deal? A 2 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo Card for $120. Amazing, eh? What'll be amazing is if it ships before the end of this year. Date of purchase: 9/22/2005. Estimated ship date was “on or before” 10/7/2005. However, every week, I've been receiving notifications from Dell via email – they're trying to welch on the deal. With every message, the delivery date slips back a few weeks. As I mentioned in tonight's report, Ponzi and I are flying to the state of Hawaii (or would that be the state of bliss?) in a couple of weeks. No real reason, really. She's already sick of the Seattle winter – even though it hasn't really kicked in yet. I'll miss the rain when we're in Maui. I plan on doing plenty of surfing while we're out there, though. Internet surfing, that is. As I mentioned in the aforelinked article, we're already signed up for a few activities. The most interestin being the Hana and Haleakala Helicopter Tour; we'll travel through Maui's most remote areas as we ascend to the top of the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala, which means “house of the sun.” The immense moonlike crater and pure iron oxide cinder cones reach a towering 1,100 feet towards the sky.
