Microsoft Windows Vista

It's official: Longhorn is Vista, Vista is Longhorn. I think I could've come up with a better name than what is clearly defined as… “a distant view or prospect.” Or perhaps that title is VERY fitting? Okay, Vista it is - but what could it have been instead?

Can't wait to see the efforts Microsoft's lawyers will go through to trademark the world “Vista”? Here's a preview: http://www.twistedstraight.com/s2005/msvista1.aspx

My god, even the “PC” in Apple’s Get a Mac commercials does a better job at representing what your product does. Wow. Seriously. After buying a new PC and returning it since Vista left such a sour taste in our mouth I like the name Windows Lemon-scented.
I really don’t know a lot about Linux, but I am thinking it is about time I learned!

Help! I’m just a little old lady trying to figure out Windows Vista on my new XPS 410 Dell. What a nightmare! Tried to delte Windows Vista & install Windows XP - from Dell software. Vista blocked all attempts. Of course I’m NOT tech-friendly & don’t always understand the lingo. I do, however, speak English, which is more than I might say about the “Dell Support Team.” Am I simply out the $$$ paid for this system? Dell’s not exactly what you’d call “responsive.”
Thanks for your site. It helps me not feel isolated in this dilemma!

I was looking forward to upgrading my PC, new, moterboard, new intel dual core chip, 1gig of ram, HD sound, now all I need is vista home premium. What a mistake, vista is crap, problems, more problems, new programmes, patches, crashes, I’m all washed up now, my dreams have been shattered now, I have endless nightmares regarding vista, it’s just like the old windows 98 days when I’d spend longer loading, reloading, rebooting etc. It’s endless with vista. Don’t buy vista is my advice, stick with XP, now I’m going back to a staple version of windows XP.

I will be saving some gas, after watching your video, I guess I will not be driving 100 miles tomorrow (as I was going to) to purchase Vista.
My hp Media HP Pavilion was taken down by Killav, and I had to format.
Now am having some problems with the re install of hp (mostly media stuff).
You talked about Vista in OS10. 20 years ago I was running 15-20 programs (all running) in OS2, DOS programs in DOS windows, os2 in os2 windows. Had a desktop, with anamated icons, The desktop icons could be created, show sample videos, ect.
After the moon landing, I would have thought we would have been to Mars by 2000. After OS2, we all thought by 2000, op systs. would be great. That was when OS2 came in a box with over 60 disks!!!!

I would go for name “Windows WTF”, i can say that if people dont know “whats going on” it is always about money. My unsecret thinks about Vista are: “U need to have so much more memory to run game on vista smoothly - why I bother Vista, i need to go for Xbox360 (and also spend some moneys for microsoft to play games). Other one: I cant run my GF8800 DX10 compatible with full capacity on XP becouse there is no DX10 for XP, why should i bother XP its so old, lets go for Vista tha Ultimate version is so cool (why there is no DX10 for XP ?).
There is so much questions about Vista, like drm, like dx10, like hardware requirements. Why the hell there is no dx10 for windows serwer2003, vista is build on windows server 2003 core! Why Xbox360 wiht windows XP built in can run games DX10-only capable (upcoming Halo-Vista-Only)

MSN Vista should not have been allowed to be produced till it had gotten all the bugs out of the program. XP is far and away user friendly. MSN might what to be in the fore front but it had to have a product that is worth updating to and Vista that I have used has not lived up to the billing MSN would have you believe. Vista should be removed till such time as its quality matches the hype.
