I'm Selling My GameBoy Advance SP

“As the world's smallest video-game platform, the Game Boy Advance SP is also the first to use a built-in rechargeable battery. Many decried the original Game Boy Advance's reflective LCD screen and its reliance on external light sources. The Game Boy Advance SP's main feature – optional backlighting – fixes this complaint nicely, but it's the wealth of other features that makes this system so surprisingly good. At first look, you might think the SP is a sleek travel alarm clock. When closed, it's just as tall and deep as the original GBA, but only half as wide. Due to its clamshell design, the screen is always protected from everyday scratches.”

Tryptophan Time

“LA folks” need more tryptophan in their daily diet. They're acting like absolute turkeys in the shopping malls and parking lots today. Tryptophan is that weird amino acid that makes you somewhat logy – sleepy, after munching on a turkey leg or two. I ventured out this morning, found a few good deals, but… ultimately found my Christmas spirit crushed by the lousy attitudes that surrounded me. Whoever said that drugs should be illegal never tried to shop in the Valley the day after Thanksgiving. I think they sell Tryptophan in Canada?

Remote Control Robot

It doesn't take a prolific e-mailer to see that the spam of this holiday season is going to be… the Robosapien Robot (a seemingly cheap-ass Aibo knock-off). You've probably already seen these Robosapiens gaining sentience in local electronics stores, too. Has anybody bothered to check the specs on these monsters? At least I finally stopped getting ZipZap crap in my Inbox…

Snappy Thanksgiving!

There are quite a few things I'm thankful for this year. Yes, the turkey-infused meals are great – but so is the idea of Thanksgiving. Every once in a while, we need to stop our daily routine and think about everything that surrounds us. Am I lucky? No, but I'm extremely grateful for a very open, honest, patient, sexy, and understanding girlfriend. I'm thankful for an awesome family (even though we live far apart from one another). I may be a turkey, but… at least they don't give me the bird. Often. And yes, I even appreciate everybody who reads or listens to what I have to share with the world – even those who disagree or think I'm half-baked. May you all have a good turkey / Thanksgiving day this year!

Girls of Geekdom

Here's a new calendar for 2005. I sure hope Halley's in there. And Cat, too.

Da photos from last week have been posted. Sorry I don't have names attached to every picture, but the captions are there for all to enjoy.

Hack Cough Wheeze

I'm kinda getting sick again.

The Good Kind of Rage

Rageboy is alive and kicking. Now he's a Chief Blogging Officer (with an RSS feed). His adoptive parents are HighBeam, a company that carries all the premium content that ever existed since the invention of sliced bread. According to him, it's “33 million full-text documents from over 3,000 sources.” I only counted 32.2 million with only 2,988 sources this afternoon, so understand that they may be inflating numbers slightly. Still, research wonks should love it. Infoaddicts, too! You'll notice that Chris uses the handle “clocke” for his entries, so he was probably hired to help over-clocke the service. Inquiring minds wanna know!
