Twice the Price

I noticed a small flood of Gnomedex registrations over the past couple of days, and I figured I was missing something. That seems to be the case, as we are moving the price up from $99 to $199 on April 15th (Tax Day)! It'll be $249 at the door, FWIW. If you're hungry for more information about the conference, the site should be up by April 5th. No real word on who's presenting and sponsoring yet, though. We're still taking suggestions.

Sponsors and speakers not breaking the door down to participate in drunkfest 4.0? Any respectable personality in the information technology field wouldn't be caught dead at this “conference”. Good luck selling tickets at $199 a pop with the likes of Mel and Jason De Flatulato a.k.a. HTML Guru boy as your keynote speakers. Maybe Sam can round out the speaker list with a piece on acne care and maintenance. At that price, the people that do show up will feel like they just got screwed by an elephant.

LARRY CHRIST!! Do you really expect tickets to be sold at that price? Getting a little stiff arent we? Lay off the Viagra bud. I like you as a person you know, but damn you are stupid for hikeing the price up like that.

Jocko… have you even been to one? Lance - hence why people should buy before April 15th… most conferences have early bird specials. Sheesh. No's 1, 2 and 3 have worked and been great for those who went - why not think this one is going to be great?
Besides, *I'll* be at this one - that's your guar. an. tee it's going to rock :-p
I have *my* ticket already - what about you?

Everyone seems to be giving Chris crap about “Drunkfest,” but they don't realize alcohol has always been available at Gnomedex events — and it proved very successful. Now he's just promoting something that always existed. Another example of smart marketing.

I don't mind paying the money, but since I live in Michigan I don't want to register yet because I'm not sure if I can aford to fly out there.
I went last year and had a TOTAL BLAST!!!! and I had planed on going this year.
I guess I'l just have to wait and see.

What?! You're raising your price? And yet there's not even any REAL updates on the Gnomedex about speakers! Come on, tell us who's coming (really, Jodie won't cut it) before people buy! Would you buy something that you don't what's offered?? From the site: Q: Who's speaking this year? A: We're still trying to figure that out, but… dude?! $99 for a three-day open bar? pppthhh.. open bar, come on… is that your biggest selling point of Gnomedex so far? smart marketing my ass
