Aggretweaking

I just found a great news aggregator for Outlook Express users, too: Genecast. After getting together with Greg last night (over a nice plate of sashimi), I feel confident that NewsGator is going to get more people to upgrade to Microsoft Outlook 2003. He showed me how to change folder views en masse (View | Current View | Define Views), and we talked about “hidden features” in 1.3. Take note: this new version will not only allow you to pull in NNTP-driven newsgroups, but enable you to define your own style sheet for all NewsGator posts! By the way, if you're using NG, you might wanna replace the default icons with the Phoenity ones I made; get 'em here. Oh, and I think I've convinced Mr. Reinacker to let people design and share their own NewsPages and style sheets with other users.

There's something else that's going to be different in version 1.3. It'll look neat! You know what I mean, don't you ;-)

Chris, you have me looking further into RSS. Has Lockergnome reviewed any RSS/XML generators either standalone or online?

Don't forget, nntp//rss provides an Open Source alternative to Genecast. RSS (and soon - ATOM) feed reading within your existing NNTP newsreader. Check out the web site for information on our demo server…

On a side note: is there any way you can have links from this comments page open in a new window by default?? (Rightclick “open in new window” gives me carpul tunnel)

PopHeadlines gives results similar to NewsGator but works with any POP3 client:

That said, I couldn't live without NG 1.3's usenet support! :)
