Blog Traffic School

I've crafted and released a new guide for the world: Chris Pirillo's Blog Traffic School. It was designed to help you get more traffic to your (duh) blog. I've already shown it to Dave Sifry, Robyn, Robert Scoble, and Jason DeFillippo; they've all given it a “thumbs up.” For $10, the information is yours to keep. Heck, I'll even start a blogroll for all the people who buy it and like it.

World's Worst Drivers

Note to everybody who's considering picking up a SanDisk USB 2.0 6-in-1 device (or any kind of external media reader, for that matter): sometimes, it'll wipe out the data on your CompactFlash without warning – and may never be able to read that particular card again. I've had similar headaches with FireWire hardware, too – so I guess I shouldn't blame the bus. Still, it's within hand's reach – and about to go out the Windows. It probably boils down to a driver problem in XP. Surprised?

Babba Chewy Chomp

Guess who inherited a Game Boy Advance SP yesterday? She spent all her quarters on the “throw your balls into Jennifer Love Hewitt's mouth” game down at the carnival, but her perseverance eventually paid off. She had to trade in seven Bon Jovi toothpicks to get it. With enough tenacity, you can reach your goals, too. It's like the difference between Shareware Amateurs and Shareware Professionals. Good things come to those who think – like Adam Stiles and Thomas Warfield (behold his Patrick-Duffy leg).

Testing 1-2-3

I'm keynoting a conference in my underwear. Don't tell them that, though. I connected my Canon DV GL2 to Lady Jaye (one of my laptops) and fired up the free Windows Media Encoder a few minutes ago. I'm broadcasting live audio / video from my apartment to a hotel ballroom in New Orleans at 4PM today. I get paid to speak to groups all the time, but because of a schedule conflict, I couldn't make the journey to Bourbon Street this time. My speech focuses on using the Internet for effective business communication. I'll touch upon: e-mail, blogging, discussion lists, IM, and (most importantly) RSS. It's a good one, I tell ya.

Them Eight Tricks

My review of The Animatrix DVD has been published. I'm a little disappointed in Tantek, who hasn't even mentioned it in his blog. Maybe he decided to take the OTHER pill? Ya know, like the thousands of people who believe that Ryze, Friendster, and LinkedIn are actually doing good for 90% of their patrons. My Brain Trust is one of the only “social software” models that actually seems to be working.

Asian Art

Those of you who keep an eye on my photoblog may have noticed that I journeyed to the east this morning. It was “free pass day” down at the Asian Art museum, and we just couldn't pass on the offer. Cameras were permitted, but flash bulbs were asked to stay outside. I created quite a few new desktop wallpapers for myself, although I had to resize the originals for this online album. If you have Windows Media Player 9 Series, you can watch a mini-movie – although I'm open to anybody converting it into another video format. At least the JPEGs should be friendlier to all platforms! Enjoy.

HYH

ETA? FYI, PDQ. LOL! BTW, BRB.

The Dog Blog

I was lucky enough to win the Superman II glass prison in an eBay auction last week. I'm happy. Mommy's happy. What about Sprocket? Yeah, he's thrilled to the point of silence. Doesn't he look like himself? This thing works better than advertised. It's a wonder Zod didn't beat the man of steel. Now he'll have the dog of rawhide to contend with. Er, with whom to contend? Anyway, please e-mail your puppy pictures (JPEG only) to have them automatically show up on my dog blog.
