The Longest Day of My Life

Beaming: my face as I walked up the stairs to my apartment last night at 1:30AM. I've never been more proud of my friends, family, and fans. Darn near everyone came out to support our Help-a-thon, which will assuredly go down as one of the (if not THE) most successful programs ever aired on TechTV. Cast and crew were giving 110% throughout the day - from six in the morning all the way to an hour past midnight. It was so fulfilling to look around the set, only minutes after the broadcast concluded. We were there to have fun, to help, and to try something that had only been talked about in years prior. Even in the late hours, the chat room was teeming with hundreds of viewers and the phone bank was full. I could only witness support vicariously, having limited access to anything other than the task at hand - in front of the camera for (pretty much) eighteen hours straight. I want to thank everybody for doing their part - in an official or unofficial capacity. You kept our spirits high, even when our tanks were running on empty. I sit here with so many happy memories dancing in my mind, knowing they'll stay with me for the rest of my life.

I am glad to know that you made it home safely, I was kinda worried about you in the last couple hours. I wanted to thank you Chris for your efforts, I watched all 18hrs to support you, but I have to say I now HATE most of the commericals that TechTV now airs. I have seen them too many times yesterday! Go sit back and relax my friend you have earned it!

Chris,
The call for help a thon was great! I haven't been this excited about TechTV in years! I wateched all 18 hours (mind you the last 2 were on tape), and I have all but the first hour on tape!
You all did a remarkable job, and I felt it when the guy from drive savers dropped the Edison Record. My jaw was on the floor!
Anyways, it never got on the air, but I made a CFH A Thon Wallpaper (click my name)

Chris you've got stamina. The show was amazing, save for the guy dropping the Edison cylinder (saddest thing I ever saw on Tech TV). You all deserve big bonuses.

Welcome back to the land of the living, so how long did you sleep after all of that insanity? I only got to catch a few hours of it, a couple in the afternoon and then the last hour and a half. Very cute onesie ;)
Where's the sign up list for people wanting a tape of it? Someone on the message boards last night suggested that TechTV offer a DVD of it. I think that'd be a great idea!
Congrats and all that on surviving.

You did an awesome job Chris! I checked in yesterday morning, and early afternoon to see if you had blogged yet. It's my guess that you were too tired to blog right away. ;-)
Like Jazy said, it was exciting! I too have not been as excited about programing on TechTV as I was the Help-A-Thon! I hope TPTB realize that what a lot of us viewers want, is more tech, more help questions answered, more interactivity on the shows! I'm hoping this is a sign that things are looking up at TechTV!
Congrats on surving the whole thing and doing an awesome job Chris!!!

Chris you did a great job with the the Call-For-Help-A-Thon! I only watch about 2 hours when it just began but I did listen to the audio stream all day (and night). Some moments on the show were rather freaky! I didn't know you were such a Weird Al fan! Again, great job and have a happy new year…

Awesome job, Chris. I hope that some of the people who got new computers for Christmas managed to watch some of it as there was a lot of help given throughout the 18 hours that could have benefited new computer owners, especially. I started laughing right along with you when you had your 'punchy' moment and couldn't stop either. Don't you love a good laugh like that? Something about it is actually cleansing!
Hope you have recovered and caught up on your sleep. Kudos, Chris!

Chris,
You did a more than wonderful job on the CFHelp-a-Thon! We watched 15 Hrs & taped the rest as we didn't want to miss anything.
It was the Best Show TechTV has aired, ever!!!! We are viewers for over 2 years.
Show was relaxed & flowed well. The content was perfect & a good mix of people showing Helpful How-To segments.
Plus answers to callers that were not so doggoned rushed.
It's the way TechTV CFH should be all the time.
No extra sillyness & games that don't help anyone. (The bloopers were extra funny however….& not staged, which made them great!] ;-)
Thanks to All of you who did an extra fantastic job!
And Thanks to Paul Block & TechTV for letting you do the show.

Chris, let me join the many kudos to your effort. Whom ever you had to bribe to get 18 hours of airtime, it was well worth it. You not only dazzled them with your savy, but also made it a showplace for the other memebers of the team. I didn't get to enjoy all 1080 minutes; probably closer to 882 without commercials, but you pulled it off in grand style!
