I Love Zoe Lofgren

Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) today introduced legislation designed to protect consumer's ability to enjoy digital copyrighted material. Lofgren's bill, the “Digital Choice and Freedom Act of 2002,” gives lawful consumers the ability to make personal uses of digital entertainment such as music, movies, and books. In addition, the bill recognizes that digital piracy will never be truly solved until consumers are given an affordable, reliable, legitimate and secure alternative.”

I Was a DumberChild

You probably caught Gretchen's dialogue with the AI IM agent (Smarterchild). Oomph-Girl did the same thing a while ago (just like I was audio blogging long before my friend Leo). I wanted to register a fake AIM handle and pretend to spit back semi-automated responses. Someone already registered dumberchild, though. So, that idea flew right out the window – along with my pride, thanks to Sam. When he and Marshall stayed an extra night in Des Moines after Gnomedex, my parents kept them entertained by showing them old home videos. Well, before he beats me to the punch, here are a couple of digitized clips. I'm going to have my mom send him even more tapes when she and Dad return home. I guess I was really into magic tricks and singing Weird Al songs back then. Nice mullet, retard.

Cell Phone Madness

Hey folks, I need a new cell phone / service provider. After discussing it with many
people (in the Bay area and elsewhere), I've narrowed it down to the *LEAST*
of all evils: Verizon Wireless. Since convenience is also a factor, I'm
considering getting service through Radio Shack (which is a block away from
where I now reside). I'm also considering taking them up on their current
offer: Motorola T720 ($199.99 with trade-in and activation). Warnings? Praises? Suggestions?
