Scobleized!

I'm showing Robert around Movable Type. So, do you think he should move – or stay right where he is. I don't know. I guess it depends on how much power that little boy can handle. Bwahahahaha! *cough* *cough* I really gotta lay off the cough syrup.

Community Tech Blog

I realize I'm about to open up a Pandora's box here, but it's something I've wanted to do since its inception a year or so ago. Are you familiar with the Lockergnome Bits & Bytes newsletter? It's a daily summary of tech news, blog posts, fun links, opinions, etc. I'm looking for people who could contribute on a regular (if not daily) basis. If you're interested, please let me know. We'll change the footers so that you get full credit.

For File Sharers

Dani Epstein's site has a nice free utility that might come in handy for those of you who enjoy engaging in illegal activities. “KazaaKracker simply shows you which dat file in your Kazaa download folder is whichever file you are downloading.” Well, I suppose that's useful?

I'm Honored?

So, I'm cleaning out my Inbox (192 down from 930 two days ago)… and I run across a handful of messages from Robyn. Did you know there's a whole row dedicated to my face in the Shutterblog? Amazing. Simply amazing. What's even more amazing is that my face appears on Christi, Statia, and
Annessa. Not to mention, Robyn. I've never met these people before, but it's nice to know that they cared enough to share their… gnome enthusiasm with the world.

New Problems

I feel a cold coming on. And I think my blog is feeling sympathetic. It first showed symptoms a few minutes after dinner. First, it turned itself upside-down. Then, after I refreshed the code, it started complaining about blurry eyesight. I gave it some drops and it kinda turned itself inside out. I called Gretchen into the room and she didn't think that anything was out of the ordinary. And even though I don't keep a lot of colors on this page, I could tell that it was feeling gray. Look at it in the mirror and I think you'll see what I'm talking about.

DSL! DSL!

Looks like I have everything in working order! The only thing is – when I pick up the phone, I get the cross noise. Is that supposed to happen? They sent filters. Maybe I should try one of those to see if that clears things up. Eh. I love speed. Woo hoo! It's good to be back!

The Saddest Day of My Life

Well, after a week of avoiding regular coffee, I decided to give it a go this evening. It was a major no go. I downed an extra large Peet's, walked around the neighborhood, sat down for dinner at a nice restaurant, ordered, and by the time I took my first bite, the caffeine rush hit and I became sick to my stomach. I'll have to scale it back to a small breve per day (after the show), if anything. My body can't handle anything more right now. I'm too nervous, and I need to get back into a few routines before I believe my mind will take it easy on the rest of me. This isn't easy, because you know how much I love Peet's – but I have to stop for now.

My Heart Beats On

Hey folks. Just a quick post to tell you that I'm still alive and well. Well, alive. It's been murder trying to get anything done on a 56k connection, so instead of running into that wall of frustration night after night, I get online, check my e-mail, and disconnect. The good news is that DSL is supposed to be installed on the 11th. One more week of this and I'd go completely crazy. I can't wait to get back into my daily / nightly routine. I miss posting goofy crap. I miss writing Lockergnome issues. I miss responding to e-mails. I'm out of the loop, and I don't like it. Not one bit. No sir. Besides, I've got to show you how nice this place is shaping up! We've got a few more boxes to move, but we're 99% there.
