Is It Bad For Me?

Just discovered Maltitol the other day.
Great flavor, but I fear the unburned 'carb' may be just as
fattening in the end. Here's the thing I don't understand: why
does a “fat free” label only apply to a food's dormant state in
its package? Plus, I wanna know why everyone who drinks a “one
calorie” soda doesn't look like it. And what's up with trading my
body's life for shelf life (read: what's up with hydrogenated
oil)? Dunno. Random observations from the commissary.

Because we desperately want to believe that the diet soda will somehow cancel out the super-sized Big Mac, fries and hot fudge sundae…

LOL I agree with Robyn. But seriously, I've heard that carbohydrates are responsible for a lot of diseases. Plaque build up in arteries, I hear, is not a result of eating a lot of fat and cholesterol (mispelled that, I know), but a result of the fatty stuff trying to seal off the ulcers on the arterie walls. Why are there ulcers, because the carbohydrates deteriorate them. Low carb.'s mean no ulcers, which means no fatty plaque build-up. I'm not totally convinced, however, there is a lot of proof beginning to persuade me.

There's no such thing as low fat. Manufactorers say there's no cholesterol in margerine when everyone should know that there's no cholesterol in vegetables… (I think?) Besides, I once heard that low fat actually means that the fat is located at the bottom of the container thus resulting in fat built-up in the lower half of the body… Come to think about it, it doesn't matter if what you eat is low fat or not. It still has fat in it. Most of the things you eat don't even have fat in the first place (I think). It's your body that digest it and turns it into fat…..
