12 Free CDs
Gretchen has somehow stockpiled twelve “free CD” certificates for her dedication to BMG's music service. The problem is: we don't know what to get. Carly Simon? Paul Simon? Billy Joel? Billy Idol? Billie Jean King? Billie Holiday? Holiday Music? The Sound of Music? No wonder she's never used these coupons. We saw Wicked this afternoon, but I don't think the soundtrack is available yet. Oh! They have John Tesh's “Forever More” album in stock. Why God, WHY?!

For a while there, I thought your webcam was like a once-a-day still shot…but you're gone, and you were just there a few minutes ago, so I think differently now.

Wing of course. If you've revisited her site, you'll notice she's taken some tracks offline due to a sudden surge in hits being more than her IP account can afford. You owe Wing.

Lancer, Chris doesn't owe Wing. Her surge in traffic was due to the fact that her singing was featured a couple of days ago on Martin Sargent's Unscrewed show. I think Martin owes Wing. Just like Martin owes Chris for even more sounds of Wing that I can't get out of my head. Or is it the other way around?

Heh. I used to work for Bertelsmann Media Systems (now Arvata Systems)…. the subsidiary of bertelsmann that runs all of the IT crap for BMG and all the various book companies they own.
All I have to say is….
If you're going to sign up with BMG, be prepared to be on the largest spam mailing list that exists. Both snail and email.
Just a heads up ;-)

It sounds like Chris already owns the whole Weird Al back catalogue… Since he seems to be into quieter music (I recall a post lamenting many popular songs Chris has never heard), perhaps some Counting Crows, Blessid Union of Souls, Benfolds or even Hootie?
